I'm Guillermina.


I'm an Argentinean data scientist focused on data visualization and creative coding. I am interested in the intersection between beauty and data. You can read more about my data journey here.


I joined the Cato Institute (Washington, DC) in 2015 as a research assistant. Today, I coauthor the Cato Institute's Human Freedom Index and as a research & project manager at Cato I am in charge of:

• Gathering, processing, and verifying the integrity of data used for research.

• Data creation, processing, modeling, and visualization for the Human Freedom Index.

I previously worked as an economic researcher at Fundación Libertad (Rosario, Argentina) from 2013-2015 and was a teaching assistant of Macroeconomics I at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Rosario, Argentina) from 2011-2013.

I am currently pursuing a MA in Creative Coding at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule + UE (Berlin). I hold a MS in Data Science from the George Washington University (United States) and a BA in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina).

As an information designer, I've dedicated the past five years of my life to communicating complex ideas through insightful data visualizations. You can check my talks on dataviz here


As a data scientist I have experience in: 

  • querying data

  • building machine learning models (classification, regression, and clustering)

  • time series modeling and forecasting

  • data mining


I am currently teaching myself p5.js and Processing to use programming as

an artistic medium and build graphic and interactive experiences.

  • Google Cloud & AWS

  • Tableau, Google Data Studio, Datawrapper & Infogram
